In July 2017, the Light Parade in Viareggio transformed the historic hangars of the Cittadella del Carnevale into a vibrant stage of lights and images, telling the centuries-old history of the Viareggio Carnival. The path guided visitors through the most significant milestones of the event, from 1873, the year of the first carnival parade, to 1921, when the first official song “Carnevale a Viareggio,” known as “Su la coppa di Champagne” by Sadun and Maffei, was presented.
Hun in the Sun played a key role in enriching this visual journey, bringing its expertise in artistic and visual projections. The images and lights, designed by Hun in the Sun, brought the history of the Carnival to life, intertwining it with that of the city of Viareggio and with national and international historical events, offering a unique and immersive vision of the tradition and evolution of this celebration. The fusion of art, costume, and history was enhanced by the visual installations, which elevated the magic of the Viareggio Carnival to a whole new level, immersing the audience in a journey of lights, colors, and sounds that celebrated the deep connection between the city and its historic event.
