Between December 2017 and January 2018, the F-Light – Florence Light Festival, promoted by the Municipality of Florence and organized by MUS.E under the artistic direction of Sergio Risaliti, illuminated the city with spectacular installations and projections in some of its most iconic locations, from the Ponte Vecchio to the Galileo Museum, from Piazza San Lorenzo to the Chamber of Commerce, and extending to Piazza Santissima Annunziata, the city’s towers, and gates.
Hun in the Sun made a significant contribution to the festival with a unique project created in collaboration with the MBVision team and the students of the “Graphic Composition” course at ISIA Florence.
A monumental video projection, over 50 meters long, transformed the walls of the historic Church of San Lorenzo into a visual theater that captivated visitors.
The theme of the projection combined the imagery of the giants of the sky and the sea, telling the story of airships and whales, symbols of grandeur and mystery. The installation merged art, design, and storytelling, creating a visual dialogue between technology and nature, between the past and the future. This project represented a perfect synthesis of Hun in the Sun‘s innovative approach, capable of transforming historical locations into immersive and contemporary experiences, celebrating the allure of flight and the beauty of nature.
